History of Clock Changing
The history of clock changing began with the first World War on the 30th April 1916. Clocks in the German Empire were set forward by one hour to start the world’s first countrywide ‘Daylight Saving Time’ (DST). Today, about 40% of countries worldwide use it to make better use of daylight and to conserve energy.
Darkness also brings dangers, especially for pedestrians and cyclists, because drivers can overlook them. A reason for that can be dark clothes or not having a light or torch. The tips below are intended to help you get through the Winter safely.
5 Tips to get safely through the Winter
- Drive slowly.
- Wear clothes, which are light colored or high visibility.
- Wear a safety vest or jacket with reflective strips.
- Make sure to turn on the light from your bicycle or car.
- Wear a bicycle helmet.
